The young golfer Tom Morris with his Championship belt c1870. Son of Old Tom Morris, Young Tom won Opens in 1868, 1869, 1870 and 1872. He played in his first Open at age of 17 and died at age of 24. There was no Open in 1871 because young Tom had won the belt by winning 3 times. The claret jug was not available until 1872.
